Ideal for kids aged 8-13 completely new to surfing, those still surfing white water, or the casual holiday surfer looking to improve their white water surfing.
They'll make friends, build water confidence, learn essential surfing skills and knowledge, and no doubt bug you for more lessons year after year!
There's only 15 spaces available per day, advanced booking is highly recommended.

Arrival - 30 Minutes BEFORE Lesson Starts:

We recommend booking with as much notice as possible for a couple of reasons:
- We have limited availability - especially for our kids surf lessons. Once a time slot or lesson is full, there's no wiggle room
- It helps us to book in our best instructors ahead of time
- In the case of bad weather or poor surfing conditions, we can work with you to move your lesson to a more suitable day with plenty of notice

Watergate Bay is located just 10 minutes from Newquay, so it is close by but without the massive crowds town can experience.
It has some of the most consistent waves in Cornwall, soft white sand, can be surfed at all tides, and is strikingly beautiful!
Our Kids Surf Lessons are for kids aged 8-13y/o.
We offer other lessons specifically for mixed age groups, families and solo learners.
Children as young as 5 years old can join a Private or Family Surf Lesson.
For your Kids Surf Lesson at Watergate Bay, make sure you arrive wearing a swimsuit, sun cream and slip-on shoes.
Bring a towel and a change of clothes, and £1 for the public showers.
As a smaller surf school with limited space, please try to limit the belonging you plan to leave with us.
We'll provide everything else you need on the day like wetsuits and surfboards!
Blue Surf School runs the smallest surf lessons groups in Cornwall at 5 student to an instructor on a Kids Surf Lesson.
That's 37.5% LESS than your typical group lesson of 8 students to an instructor at most other surf schools.
A surf lesson is 2-hours long, not including the half an hour needed to get ready before hand.
If it is looking like weather or surf conditions might not be safe on the day of your lesson we'll make sure to keep you informed in the days leading up to it.
Due to weather patterns changing quickly here on the atlantic coast we may not make a decision until the night before or even day of your lesson.
Should we deem it unsafe we’ll look to reschedule for another day. Failing that we'll offer you a voucher for the full value of your lesson or issue a refund.
We're one of the more cautious surf school in Cornwall. Our priority is ensuring that your surf lesson at Watergate Bay is enjoyable and safe!
